Hello, I'm Felicia Gowing- Director of Business Development at CAD Micro, with more then a decade of experience in Design and Manufacturing software and Services Sales, having entered the industry in 2011.
Inspiration for a Tech Career
My passion for technology and its transformative impact on manufacturing inspired my career path. Witnessing the evolution of CNC software sparked my interest, shaping my perspective on the importance of diversity and inclusion in driving innovation.
Staying Informed in a Dynamic Landscape
Remaining current in the fast-paced tech world is essential. I stay informed through continuous learning, staying closely connected with my network, attending industry events, and engaging with amazing organizations like the CTMA (Canadian Tooling & Manufacturing Association) to understand the latest trends and advancements.
Navigating Male-Dominated Environments
In tech environments dominated by men, I emphasize collaboration and inclusivity. My unique perspective as a woman in tech drives innovative solutions, breaking traditional barriers. For example, in a recent software project, my intuitive approach and attention to detail resulted in a more dynamic product. By addressing immediate concerns and identifying critical future business needs, we accelerated time-to-market, surpassing competitors. This not only strengthened our relationship with a key customer, fostering trust, but also laid the foundation for long-term partnerships. The positive impact underscores the value of diverse perspectives in technology, cultivating lasting relationships in an industry often lacking personalized engagement.
