Injection Molded Parts in <24 Hours? Low-Volume Injection Molding 101

Starts: May 12, 2022 10:00 AM Ends: May 12, 2022 11:00 AM

The majority of plastic products in the world today are manufactured by injection molding. However, fabricating molds can be prohibitively expensive and time-consuming and is not cost-effective for low-volume production. Fortunately, for limited quantities, molds don’t always need to be machined out of metal—they can be 3D printed. In this webinar, Formlabs will show you how to use stereolithography (SLA) 3D printed molds...

How to Produce Factory Tooling, Jigs, and Fixtures with Large-Format 3D Printing

Starts: May 11, 2022 12:00 PM Ends: May 11, 2022 12:30 PM

Production fixtures and tooling are expensive and slow to manufacture, their fabrication is often outsourced, and it usually takes several design iterations before the first prototype is found. Hand-held fixtures are often difficult and cumbersome to use, while complex fixtures can require extensive assembly and expensive components. 3D printing is a game-changer for virtually every type of tooling, from production...

CAD MicroSolutions had the pleasure of hosting Canada’s first Plastics Knowledge Day alongside our 3D metrology partner, GOM, on November 27th at our Toronto head office. Although ours was the only event in Canada, Plastics Knowledge Day was a global series with events hosted in more than 30 countries around the world throughout 2019! The events brought together experts in optical 3D metrology and plastics to share information on the tools and technology making an impact on the plastics process chain in Industry 4.0.

Every year, SOLIDWORKS releases a new and improved version of the software that directly addresses many of the requests and feedback from the SOLIDWORKS user community around the world.
