ENHANCEMENTS TO PART MODELLING FUNCTIONALITIES

  • Create an Offset Surface without failed faces
  • Repair fillet and chamfer features that show a missing references error
  • More features support for mesh BREP bodies like: Shell, Fillet, Draft, Chamfer, etc.
  • Make it easier to work with graphics mesh bodies using the Decimate Mesh tool
  • Support for Mirror and Pattern features of a Structure System feature
  • New options for creating Primary Members based on Points in a Structure System
  • Added ability to split primary and secondary members using a reference or dimensions
  • Smooth curvature transition between splines and other sketch entities using Torsion Continuity relations

EHANCEMENTS TO ASSEMBLY MODELLING

  • Ability to create and edit Component Patterns in Large Design Review mode
  • Create Mates in an assembly to reference geometry in Large Design Review mode

  • Improved performance when opening and saving files from a previous version

 ENHANCEMENTS TO SOLIDWORKS DRAWINGS

  • Ability to add hole callouts to cross-sectioned holes and slots in a Section View
  • Use the new Chain Dimension to create a chain of associated dimensions measuring from one feature to the next
  • Open large, complex drawings quickly with Detailing mode
  • Improved performance and render speeds of drawings

ENHANCEMENTS TO SOLIDWORKS SIMULATION

  • Improved mesh formulation for linear static studies allows both draft and high-quality solid elements to coexist in a single mesh definition
  • Distributed coupling enhances the formulation of pin and bolt connectors to deliver more realistic representations of a connector’s behavior
  • List the free body forces on select geometry entities at each solution step for nonlinear static and nonlinear dynamic studies
  • Use Simulation Evaluator to check a study's setup to determine if the setup is optimal for a successful simulation run
  • Ability to apply thermal loads on beam joints and beam bodies

 ENHANCEMENTS TO SOLIDWORKS PDM

  • Solidworks PDM Web2 lets you see a read-only view of the Bill of Materials
  • Define conditions on the state of immediate child references to control the parent file transition
  • Improved performance while browsing as SOLIDWORKS PDM loads the data in the background
  • Perform a search with the quick search box in the File Explorer without setting up a search card
  • SOLIDWORKS PDM supports AND, OR, and NOT operators in input search criteria in edit-box type fields on search cards
  • ENHANCEMENTS TO SOLIDWORKS COMPOSER
  • Ability to import exploded, saved, and named views from SOLIDWORSK files into Composer projects
  • Support for FLV, MKV, AVI, and MP4 video formats when saving animations

ENHANCEMENTS TO SOLIDWORKS ELECTRICAL

  • Create leader lines with blocks and notes in 2D panel layouts and harness drawings
  • Ability to remove a wire or core from electrical routes, cables or harnesses in SOLIDWORKS Electrical Schematic, then re-import that model, and the software removes the wire or core from the model in SOLIDWORKS Electrical 3D
  • Customize reports by adding a column that specifies the row number and control the row height in reports
  • Ability to archive custom user profiles, customize the feature grid, control the deletion rights of user profiles, and create a user-defined profile from the User rights manager

ENHANCEMENTS TO SOLIDWORKS PLASTICS

  • Assign more boundary conditions directly on geometric entities than you previously could
  • The Mesh Property Manager is redesigned to simplify the mesh creation workflow
